Graduate Fellow Positions in the Department of Food Technology and Nutrition

The Department of Food Technology and Nutrition at Makerere University is seeking to recruit two Graduate Fellows. One position is for a graduate student pursuing studies in Human Nutrition, and the other is for a graduate student pursuing studies in Food Science or Food Safety.

Position Overview:
As a Graduate Fellow, you will play a crucial role in supporting the department’s academic and research activities. You will work alongside researchers and faculty members, contributing to the development of innovative solutions in food science and nutrition. Access to modern laboratories and a vibrant academic community will enhance your professional growth and research capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in grading examinations.
  2. Assist in the preparation of teaching materials, as well as conducting practical and tutorial sessions.
  3. Assist in supervising undergraduate student projects.
  4. Provide academic guidance and counseling to undergraduate students.
  5. Conduct original research and participate in community outreach activities.
  6. Support faculty and students with designing and implementing experiments, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  7. Contribute to the dissemination of research findings through publications in peer-reviewed journals,
    presentations at conferences, and engagement with industry stakeholders.
  8. Assist in writing proposals to attract funding to the Department.
  9. Perform any other lawful duties assigned by the Head of Department.
    Qualifications and Eligibility:
