Dr. Alice Turinawe is a Lecturer at Makerere University, Uganda. She holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics, a master’s degree in Agricultural and Applied Economics and a bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness Management. She is also a Research Fellow at the Environment for Development (EfD) Center, Makerere University. Her research, spanning over 15 years, has focused on agricultural development interventions and their impact on the welfare of farms and communities; conflict and livelihoods in the dryland areas of Uganda and Kenya, focusing on sustainable restoration and resilience, nutrition and conflict; agribusiness value chains; nutrition and food systems; land and property rights; agricultural extension and entrepreneurship and business incubation in agriculture.
