ANNOUNCEMENT OF EIGHT FULLY FUNDED SLOTS FOR TRAINING IN SCIENTIFIC WRITING AND ACTION RESEARCH METHODS

Project overview
The project ‘Partnership for Education in Refugee-Host Contexts: Joint learning towards food security and sustainable development in Uganda’ (NORPART-2021/10508) is funded by the Norwegian government. It aims at enhancing the quality of higher education in Uganda and Norway, focusing on the theme: ‘Food security and sustainable development in refugee-host contexts’. This five-year NORPART project (2022-2026) is coordinated by the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. The members of the consortium in Uganda include: Makerere University, Gulu University and the Centre for African Research. Training in scientific writing and conducting action research. The NORPART project will conduct training in scientific writing and action research methods scheduled for 13th – 25th of October 2024 at the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, Gulu University.

This call targets Masters students and undergraduates awaiting graduation from the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Makerere University. Prospective students must have interest in the major focus of the project i.e. Food security and sustainable development in refugee-host contexts. They should currently be on normal progress in their coursework. Together with Norwegian students and students from Gulu University, those successful will be equipped with these valuable competences and skills and a possibility to be offered an opportunity to participate in future project activities.

Criteria Interested candidates should submit their application to the NORPART project team, including a cover letter addressed to student study exchange selection committee, NORPART, a detailed CV, testimonial showing current progress, and copies of the academic documents. Applications (and inquiries) be submitted by 27th Sept, 2024 to tumusid@yahoo.com. All documents should be submitted in pdf-format. Successful applicants will be contacted before 30th Sept, 2024.
