Thon Makoi

Makoi graduated in 2014 from the School of Social and Economic Studies (Department of Economics with Division one), University of Juba. He was recruited in July, 2015 as Teaching Assistant (TA) by University of Juba and placed in the School of Social and Economic Studies, Department of Economics where he taught introductory courses in Economics to first year’s students. He took leave in 2017, and entered into the humanitarian world where he served in various humanitarian agencies as WASH Facilitator and Officer. He resumed his teaching role in the University of Juba in January, 2021.

Before he completed his undergraduate studies, he served as a primary school teacher in Rumbek, South Sudan, also he served as a Secretary in Lakes State Legislative Assembly, Rumbek as well as a Graduate Clerk with Co-operative Bank of South Sudan in Juba.

His exposure to the academic and humanitarian worlds greatly arouse in him a sense of humanity and instilled in me a desire to further his knowledge so as to serve humanity. he is an Inspired and highly motivated professional, a dynamic team player with effective communication skills and strong interpersonal relationship.

Blue and green are his favorite colors that stems from my love of nature. His favorite dish is karlo – a local dish made of either cassava or sorghum flour, with green vegetables sauce.
