Rochelle Gladys Kemitare

Kemitare Gladys Rochelle is a PhD student of Energy Economics and governance under the Norwegian Capacity Building Programme entitled “Capacity building for socially just and sustainable low-carbon energy transitions agenda”, at Makerere University Business School. Her research interest is in the broad area of energy transition in developing countries specifically Uganda, where the use of fossil fuels like firewood is still high. Specifically, she hopes to contribute to this transition agenda which has attracted controversial debate over the years, an inspiration she derives from SDG 7 that wants to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. Rochelle has recently been appointed as one of 25 International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) Youth Ambassadors in addition to being a member of the IAEE and Uganda Association of Energy Economics (UAEE) where her interests in energy have grown to include energy efficiency, energy access, renewable energy and energy transitions among others. Kemitare Gladys Rochelle hold a Bachelors ‘degree of Arts in Economics and a Maters of Arts in Economic policy and Management from Makerere University. She is a Lecturer in the department of Economics and Energy, Makerere University Business School.
