Albert Kafilondi Pascal is a South Sudanese and holds a BSc. (Hons) Degree in Geology and Mining from the University of Juba, College of Natural Resources and Environmental Studies, Department of Geology and Mining. He has been working in the Oil and Gas Sector of South Sudan as Geologist (Logger) since November 2017 first with China National Logging Corporation (CNLC) and then recently with Quantum Oilfields Services. In addition, he has been a part time Teaching Assistant at University of Juba and professionally a member of South Sudanese Geologists of Petroleum Association (SSGPA) where he has been serving as General Secretary since 2020. This is a golden opportunity for Albert to delve into a life changing academic experience at Makerere University which is a Premium Higher Learning Institution in the region. His research interest is Energy infrastructure, environmental impacts and changing social practices in South Sudan’s capital Juba. He hopes to contribute to Energy Transition debate fostering South Sudan’s adaption of Clean Energy while contributing to SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy, SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 11 – Climate Action and SDG 17 – Partnership for Goals.
