MAK Media Week ends with CAES Showcasing Five Innovations
Makerere University on Friday 16th December, 2011 concluded its Media week that started on 12th December 2011. The Media Week was meant to show case university innovations in different colleges and schools under the theme,
The nine colleges and the School of Law exhibited their innovations in pairs where different media houses were invited. The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences(CAES) displayed five innovations ending the Media Week.
- The water purification technology using Moringa, Jack fruit and Java plum (Jambula) seeds aimed at enhancing access to clean and safe water to rural communities
- The Soil Testing Kit and the Bio fertilizer aimed at providing affordable technical knowledge an d services on soil health and addressing the problem of Nitrogen deficiencies in the soil.
- More regional trials to develop other Mak soybean varieties with several attributes
- Newly published books for Agriculture and Geography to promote the subjects and beef up reference book stores in the country.
