CAES Celebrates the Institutional and Individual Awards Won Since Turning Collegiate

On the 21st of November 2012, the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences celebrated its tremendous award-wining spree over the past two year since it turned collegiate.

The Principal, Prof. Samuel Kyamanywa receiving the AGRF Award 2012 as one of the best institutions for the commitment and excellence in areas of Academia & Research towards promoting a Green Revolution in Africa

 

These awards included Institutional recognition awards and Individual excellence awards as listed below:

Institution Awards

CAES recognized for her consistent participation in the Agricultural shows 

CAES recognized by the National Farmers’ Federation for her consistence participation in Annual agricultural exhibitions for 20 years (1992-2012)

School of Agricultural Sciences: Recognized for winning the AGRF Award 2012 as one of the best institutions for the commitment and excellence in areas of Academia & Research and being among leaders and visionaries in promoting a Green Revolution in Africa

School of Food Technology, Nutrition & Bio-Engineering: Recognition for Receiving the Outstanding Vocational Service Award (2012-13) by The Rotary Club of Kampala North District 9200

School of Food Technology, Nutrition & Bio-Engineering: Recognized for winning The 2012 UMA Show Award Best Exhibitor in the Service Sector

Individual Awards

Prof. Joyce Kikafunda: Recognized for Receiving the 2012 Nestle Nutrition Institute Africa Award

 Prof. Joyce Kikafunda: Recognized for Receiving the 2011 African Crop Science Society Award for Outstanding Contribution to Crop Production in Africa

 Prof.  Noble Banadda: Recognized for being Honoured by the Inter - University Council of East Africa for his outstanding performance on The VICRES Project “Modelling of  Non- point Source Pollution in L. Victoria Basin”

Prof. William Kyamuhangire: Recognized for being Decorated  with “Class One Order of the Nile Medal” by The President of Uganda for applying Science and Technology on Traditional Bananas: 2012

Prof. Elly Sabiiti: Recognized for being  Honoured and Given “Fellow” Status by the African Academy of Sciences: 2012   

Prof. Moses Tenywa: Recognized for winning the First Africa College Prize for effectively implementing phase I of the “Proof of Integrated Agricultural Research for Development-IAR4D Project, supported by FARA: 2012

Dr. Patrick Okori: Recognized for initiating The Regional Programme in Plant Breeding and Seed Systems: 2012

Dr. Richard Edema: Recognized for initiating The Regional Programme in Plant Breeding and Biotechnology

Dr. Denis Mpairwe: Recognized for establishing an Internship Programme that has been used as a Model for the entire University

Dr. Phinehas Tukamuhabwa: Recognized for effectively organizing Annual Agricultural Shows that have fetched awards to CAES

Mrs. Eugine Manda:  Recognized for effectively organizing Food Science and Technology Exhibitions that have fetched awards to CAES

Dr. Paul Kibwika: Recognized for Initiating and Implementing a Regional Programme in Agricultural and Rural Innovations (ARI)

Dr. Bernard Bashaasha: Recognized for Steering the Development and Implementation of The Regional Collaborative Masters Programme in Agricultural and Applied Economics

Mr. Herbert Kahandi: Recognized for Punctual, Dependable and Dedication to work as Security Guard

Mr. Wilson Kisembo: Recognized for his Long Term Service, Loyalty and Commitment to Work
