10 Makerere University staff win the RUFORUM 6th call for proposals worth $600,000
Several staff from Makerere University were winners of the 6th RUFORUM Grants totalling to USD $ 600,000. The Regional Universities Forum for Agriculture (RUFORUM) is a consortium of 32 member universities in Eastern, Central and Southern Africa.
119 proposals were submitted from various RUFORUM member Universities for the 6th GRG proposal call. 29 were selected for the award.
Out of the 29 proposals, 10 (about 30%) are from Makerere University and most of the Principal Investigators (PIs) are in College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES).
The CAES had seven (7) PIs. These are:
1) Dr. John Steven Tenywa
2) Assoc. Prof. Donald R. Kugonza
3) Dr. Thomas. Odong
4) Dr. Jackline Bonabana
5) Dr. Grace Nakabonge
6) Dr. Justine Namaalwa Jjumba
7) Prof. Noble Banadda.
The three (3) others are : 8) Dr. Fiona Tulinayo from the College of computing and Information Science (CoCIS) and
9) Dr. Anne Akol from the College of Natural Sciences (CoNAS).
10) Dr. Robinson. Odong from the College of Natural Sciences (CoNAS).
