Over 1000 participants expected to attend MUARIK Farm clinic

 

Over 1000 people are expected to take part in the seventh upcoming Makerere University Agricultural Research Institute (MUARIK) Farm clinic.

The Farm clinic begins  tomorrow Saturday  26th August,  2017 at  Kabanyolo.It is organized by  MUARIK and the Monitor  Publications Ltd.

The Acting Farm Manager  MUARIK , Julius Peter Ahangana called upon all the staff of the University to come and give a hand in form of moral support and also encouraged everybody to take part in the clinic including those from the diaspora.

“We are going to have prominent practicing and able farmers who have done it and perfected it both practically and theoretically,

We are going to have Prof S.B Mukasa teaching on banana Value chain, Dr, Katongole Constantine handling diary value chain, Dr. David Muteetika handling piggery value chain, myself Julius Ahangana handling passion fruit and Edmond handling coffee,” he said.

Ahangana welcomed every body’s contributions towards the success of this and also look forward to having the best out of it.

Farm clinics are organized basing on the farmers challenges and demands in the quest to fulfil the mandate of the institute. MUARIK is an Agricultural Research Institution owned by Makerere University. It is being managed as a multi-disciplinary facility for training, research, outreach and production under the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
