Call for Participation in the Second Training of Trainers (TOT) Course in Didactics and Student Mentorship at Makerere University (21st -23rd March 2016)
Makerere University in collaboration with the University of Nairobi, Sokoine University of Agriculture and University of Copenhagen are implementing a project entitled “Enhancing the quality of graduates of Agriculture to meet tomorrow’s food security challenges (PREPARE-BSC project). The overall objective is to enable the partner universities to develop competent relevant high level human resources within agriculture, veterinary science and related fields (hereafter referred to as agriculture) to address food security as part of socio-economic development needs of the societies in Eastern Africa The PREPARE- BSC project is funded by EU through ACP-EDULINK II program.
The TOT course will take place from the 21st -23rd of March 2016 at Grand Global Hotel, Kampala. The training is designed to produce graduates who are relevant to the societal needs and the work market demands. It will function as a catalyst to boost food security and safety along the knowledge chain of agriculture. The course will expose participants to hands-on training in good learner centered teaching methods, student activation and motivation, effective methods of assessment, curriculum review processes and student mentorship.
Target group: The targeted group includes junior, mid-career and senior academic staff in the fields of Agriculture, Forestry, Veterinary, Environment, Natural Sciences and Food Science.
Note: The workshop will be non-residential and modest transport refund will be provided.
