DAAD-Makerere University scholarships 2016-17 Master of Science in Integrated Watershed Management

About the scholarship

Makerere University, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES)in partnership with Germany Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is pleased to announce that four (4) DAAD scholarships for Masters of Science in Integrated Watershed Management(MSc.IWM) Program are available. The scholarships are tenable for2016/17 Academic Year at Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda.

DAAD promotes international academic exchange as well as educational cooperation with developing countries through various funding and scholarship programs.

The MSc. Scholarship and subsequent training at Makerere University starts in September 2016.

 

Applications are now invited from qualified candidates from Eastern and Central Africa. The applicantmust be a holder of at least Bachelor of Science degree in relevant disciplines with above average results. Academic staff members from regional Universities and women are especially encouraged to apply.

Scholarship Duration and Coverage

This MSc. IWM Scholarship will be available for a maximum of two years. The Scholarship will be initially granted for one year and will be extended upon request for another year.

The Scholarship will onlycover tuition fees, monthly stipend (covering living costs including accommodation); research allowance and Thesis production costs. Please note that this is not a full scholarship and additional funding is not possible for laboratory costs, conferences, field work, equipment, books, travel etc).

The Application Process

All interested applicants are expected to present their applications with the following;

  1. DAAD application form for In-country/In-Region scholarships
  2. Signed curriculum vitae (Please use the Europass CV template (http:/europass.cedefop.europa.eu)
  3. A signed copy  of this DAAD information sheet for students
  4. Certified  copies of academic transcripts and certificates
  5. At least a temporary admission letter for MSc. IWM. In case you lack one, a letter from the Graduate School or University indicating that your application for a MSc program was received. New applicants to the Program must show evidence with application forms for the MSc. IWM.
  6. A recommendation/academic reference  from a Senior academic staff
  7. A two page letter of motivation for M.Sc IWM study
