Training: A good number of Uganda’s finest tropical ecologists have been trained at MUBFS at both MSc and Ph.D. levels. Many of these are serving as lecturers in local Universities; others are working in governmental and non-governmental conservation organizations. MUBFS is proud of having produced at least 50 PhDs and 25 MScs; these include both national and international Scholars. Examples of such high profile researchers and academicians are Prof. Dr. John Kasenene (Vice Chancellor, Mountains of the Moon University- Fort Portal) and Prof. Dr. Christine Dranzoa (Vice Chancellor, Muni University-Arua) among others.
Publications: Over 300 research papers and book chapters have been published from research conducted at Kibale. These are all available in our library, courtesy of professors Lauren and Colin Chapman of McGill University, Canada. Each year, the two professors compile all the publications from MUBFS and bind it in one book, a copy of which is deposited in the MUBFS library. Additionally, a good number of books have been written by MUBFS researchers.
