Nomination FORM for Representative to Senate.

Dear members of staff,

Reference is made to my previous communication that the Makerere University Senate was yet to hold a meeting to elect the three (3) representatives to the Search Committee for the Vice Chancellor.

On Tuesday 13th March 2012,the members of the University Senate present resolved to conform to Section 44 of the Universities and Other Tertiary

Institutions Act 2001 on matters pertaining to the composition of the University Senate.

The Food Technology and Business Incubation Centre announces the following short skills training courses:



Processing of fruit and vegetable juices

18thJune – 22th June

Processing of yoghurt

25th - 29th June 2012

Baking of cakes and confectionaries

2nd July- 6th July 2012

Processing of fruit and vegetable sauces

9th - 13th July 2012

Processing of jams and preserves

16th - 20th July 2012

Participants will learn how to process and market high quality products like natural fruit juices, jams, yoghurt, and cakes.

Who should apply: Youths and women entrepreneurs, intending entrepreneurs, graduates & students on vacation.
Venue: Training will run from 8:30am-5:00pm every day at the School of Food Technology, Nutrition & Bioengineering, Makerere University main campus. 
Course fees: UShs 350,000 per module

The World Bank Robert S. McNamara Fellowships Program 2012-2013.

The Robert S. McNamara Fellowships Program provides support to young researchers working in academic and research institutions from developing countries and preparing a doctoral thesis in a subject related to development. Research grants cover residence costs in a university or research center in a member country of the World Bank other than the home country or country of residence of the candidate.

Fellowships are awarded for a period of five to ten months and must be completed between December 2012 andNovember 2013. The maximum amount of the grant is US$25,000.

Completed application packages must be received in Washington, D.C., by July 31, 2012. The awards will be announced in November 2012.
